86 Years of Beauty

This week my 85 year old homebound Mamaw turned 86!!!
This is a Big Deal, especially due to the fact that about three years ago she got in a terrible car wreck and it was uncertain how long she'd live. Praising God for giving me another precious year with good ole Kathleen Moore. Though this year has been quite tough and often a challenge, it has also been one of the greatest blessings I could ever ask for. The other day my Mamaw said to me that she has learned more from me, a nineteen year old, than people that were twice my age....this was beyond humbling not to mention a major tear jerker. The most beautiful, sweet, compassionate, Loving, silly, crazy, goofy, cute, adorable, discerning, and kind hearted person I've ever known said she has learned from me!? Uh no, pretty sure it's the other way around.

I just love this lil ole 86 year old woman sooo...stinkin much. If you haven't met her yet, I strongly encourage it. She may ask you a gazillion questions and forget your name but by she'll surely compliment your hair and whatever else. She will give you the sweetest most goofy smile ever and what I love the most is how encouraging she is. She doesn't even try to most times....but the way she speaks and carrys herself will melt your heart. Though she has to use a walker to get around, can't drive a vehicle, and needs help getting dressed each day...She is by far one of the STRONGEST women I've ever known. No lie. I want to be just like her someday. She has such a sweet spirit and beautiful heart. She Loves others and puts their own interests above her's. To say she is absolutely amazing would be an understatement. I've cherished every second of getting to watch after her as her primary car giver. She has always been there for me. Though I have recently decided to move out in order to focus on school, I will forever and always hold the sweet times of living with her close to my heart. My Mammaw is superwoman, be jealous ;)

I will never forget the beautiful sweet time spent in fellowshiping with Gift,Magid,Delitso,Chifundo,Louis,Jafitah,Peter,
Lighter,Anita,and achemwali Merify.
Also Matt and Janet who are serving God and surely
Rocking it out for His kingdom in Lilongwe,Malawi.I hope to someday return.
Also Kym who is finishing her two years of mission work as a journey woman in August.
Time spent talking with her was very precious and treasured. She has such a big heart for Christ and it is evident that she loves people. She works through the IMB as a True Love Waits teacher in an act to help prevent AIDS.Both of Anitas parents died of Aids just last year.I will forever have a huge amount of respect to my amazing Chichewa translators and friends. It was a huge blessing to get to serve the Lord with them daily.
Please Pray for my loving brothers and sisters in Christ serving in Malawi,Africa.
They are constantly on my heart and I miss them dearly.

Malawi,AFRICA 2010

So I just recently returned from a little place called Malawi,Africa.I went there along with five other teamates and our BCM director for a mission trip with the task of telling others about this amazing Savior named Jesus Christ. We stayed with Matt and Janet Lawrence, two awesome missionaries whov'e lived in Malawi for eight years through IMB.They were kind enough to let us stay at there lovely home and provided meals and a place to sleep each night. In Malawi they speak the tribal language called Chichewa. This language has been very fun to learn and surprisingly I've picked up on it quite well(surprisingly cause I'm terrible when it comes to speaking languages, haha). As a team we each had our own individual translators. If I were asked to decribe them in a few words it would most likely be RELENTLESS.STRONG.PASSIONATE.LOVING.KIND HEARTED.PURE.HARD WORKING.INSANELY AWESOME Followers of Yesu(Jesus). And that still wouldn't even begin to do justice to how much they truely fear the Lord and know His word and love to tell others about Christ. They were probably the most inspiring of the whole trip and they had such a love for people that can only come from Christ himself.

It's crazy how things seemed to have come about.Though we did not plan it,each of us and our specific translator paired hit it off instantly.Toddy and Gift were around the same age and were very skilled at teaching and speaking with others.Garrison and Lighter to bring forth scripture like crazy! And rocked out preaching to the churches and discipling.Wes and Louis were both funny guys and had such a passion for God and sharing His love to others.Tiffany and Anita are both very strong woman of God who are very kind and sweet and compassionate.Tiffany and I along with Anita and Merify would group together alot.It was sooo cool to work with such awesome sisters in Christ and feed off eachother.Katie and Magid were both good at teaching others and talking with people as well.

And my wonderful translator Merify and I hit it off in a matter of seconds after meeting eachother!Merify is loud and can talk up a storm! She was incredible with working with children"Anas" and has had a very tough life.Merify has a ten year old daughter and raises her as a single mother. From what I know the father of her child was abusive and the whole situation was just not pretty. It's crazy that we were paired to work together. It was obvious God worked everything together For His Kingdom. It was such an incredible honor and privelage to work with Merify. To learn about her Life. The hurt. The struggles. The pain. The heartache. The Joy.The peace. The Hope she had and I could go on for days...She has made a Huge impact on my life and I miss my wokongola chemwali(beautiful sister) oh so much. She inspired me in so many ways and challenged me to learn more about Christ and to continue showing love towards with no holding back.I want to be just like Merify when I grow up =)

This is Why I Write

God never ceases to humble my heart when prideful, give me Passion when apathetic, teach me how to forgive others as He has forgiven me, and show me that I am BEAUTIFUL in His eyes. Wow. How can I not speak of His greatness constantly? He is calling me to be HANDS & FEET wherever I Go. Whether that's doing what I love by playing drums or ministering to others around the world, He calls me to Go. Therefore, I've chosen to embrace every opportunity as exciting, scary, confusing, awesome, unpredictable, and crazy as they may be. I can't help but talk of the greatest thing that has ever happened in my life...Jesus Christ is the reason I have life and can live it abundantly.
If my life does not scream Jesus in every aspect, I've not done the job I've been called to do as a bondservant.  God is Real. He Loves YOU. He created us for Him to enjoy His creation
and longs for an intimate relationship with us. This is the greatest news I've ever received.
It is what my heart beats for. It is Who my heart beats for. The good news is why my FEET desire to GO and my HANDS desire to serve. So if you don't care to read posts about music, traveling, and God...you'll most likely not care to read this blog. But you should read it anyways ;) I'm still new to thins whole thing but I figured I'd give it a go. Stay tuned for more!
